Wetlands Program

The mission of the Wetlands Bureau is to protect, maintain and enhance the environmental quality in New Hampshire through the regulation of impacts to those areas "where the tide ebbs and flows" or "freshwater flows or stands".  The Wetlands Bureau is located at 29 Hazen Drive, P.O. Box 95, Concord, NH 03302-0095.  They can be contacted at 603-271-2147 or wetmail@des.nh.gov.
 
New Wetlands Rules!  The following rules take effect on December 15, 2019.  The rules will be the focus of two upcoming GSDI dinner meetings which will include a presentation on the new rules by bureau staff.  Further information about the evening programs will be released soon.

Shoreland Program

The Shoreland Program complements the Shoreland Water Quality Protection Act (Formerly known as Comprehensive Shoreland Protection Act) which established minimum standards for activities within the protected shoreland that are designated to protect the water quality of the state's larger water bodies and to fulfull the state's role as trustee of those waters. They are located at 29 Hazen Drive, P.O. Box 95, Concord, NH 03302-0095.  They can be contacted at 603-271-2147 or shoreland@des.nh.gov.
